The Ectaco jetBook Color Ereader, which is produced and manufactured by Hanvon, was named a Design and Engineering Award Honoree.

Beijing, China - November 14, 2011, Hanvon Technology Co., Ltd. is proud to announce that the jetBook Color was named a 2012 CES Innovation Awards honoree in the Personal Electronics category. Hanvon, a global leader in ereader technology, collaborated with Ectaco, Inc., a world leader in portable language learning and translation technology, to create the world’s first color E Ink® ereader designed for education.

The jetBook Color, optimized for educational use, offers a plethora of hardware and software features tailored especially to students. The device’s 9.7” Triton color E Ink® screen is easy on the eyes and well-suited for students who will be reading and interacting with the device for long durations of time. The Triton color E Ink® technology, unlike traditional monochromatic E Ink®, enhances textbooks, images and other educational supplements with rich, 4,096 color capabilities. Hanvon’s special embedded electromagnetic panel with stylus enables students to make annotations directly on their e-textbooks. On the software side, the jetBook Color comes with a wide-range of language learning and test preparation courseware, including Talking Oxford Dictionaries narrated by professional linguists, Interactive Periodic Table of Elements, graphing and scientific calculators and more.

“We are very happy the jetBook Color has been bestowed this honor,” said Jessica Zhang, General Manager of Hanvon’s International Business Dept. “Hanvon’s ereader technology, combined with Ectaco’s educational software and firmware solution make the jetBook Color a truly comprehensive interactive learning device.”

The jetBook Color will be presented in Las Vegas at the 2012 CES Show (Booth #36180) with an award recognition presentation on January 10th at 12:15 p.m. in the Venetian Ballroom A-D.
